Something about Matthew
Dr Matt Boulton has expertise in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and depression, as well as bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders including schizophrenia. He has a special interest in the use of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and pharmacological treatments.
In addition to practicing at Mindcare Centre, Dr Matt Boulton is a Staff Specialist in the Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre at St George Hospital. He also provides opinions and management plans for general practice patients in Griffith twice a month. He is a conjoint associate lecturer for the University of New South Wales.
Matt trained in psychiatry through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrist at the St George, Sutherland and St Vincent’s Hospitals. He spent the final eighteen months of this training working in the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUFAD) at St Vincent’s Hospital, utilising face-to-face and online CBT. During this time, he created an online course for teaching health professionals how to perform CBT and this has been accessed by clinicians around the world.
